This is a great place to bring your family! They are always willing to talk to visitors about the animals and it is very reasonably priced!
The worst thing is the creationist propaganda. Its disappointing and discourages me from wanting to bring our kids back.
The animals appear well cared for and healthy, which is the most important thing, the the employees were very happy to share their knowledge of the animals. The buildings are a bit ramshackle, but I'd rather they spent their budget on the animals rather than the buildings.
We visited with a group ranging from ages 5 to 81 and everyone had so much fun. The people working there were friendly and knowledgeable and they had so many different kinds of interesting animals from all parts of the world to look at and learn about.

Signage on the animal enclosures could be better or more consistent, but as they say, they are a rescue center first and zoo second.
Unfortunately they don't seem to have the resources that it takes to be titled a "sanctuary", and no credibility as an educational center. There were very few informational signs on any cages (yes, cages, not even large enough to be called enclosures), and the employees seemed obsessed with having us pet or touch all of the animals, even when we said no thank you. I went to scope the place out, and it was about as rough as I expected. Not to mention, the super strange religious Creationism undertones to the place. I do not recommend zoos in general, but this place hits close to rock-bottom. They simply give these animals food and shelter, but not a life.
